Regarding to the thickness of the maxillary buccal gingiva from 33 cases (Cadavers: a 20, 9 10, Vital gingivae: 3) were measured and observed them clLnico-anatomically. The - results were as follows; 1. Thickness of the interdental papilla was thicker than that of the marginal gingiva. 2. Among the various thickness measured in the gingiva, 1.5^-1.9 mm for the marginal gingiva and interdental papilla is the thickest, 0.6^-0.8 mm for middle portion of the attached gingiva is the thinnest, and 0.8^-1.3 mm for the lower portion of the attached gingiva are between them. 3. Thickness of the vital gingiva was thicker 0.5^-0.3 mm than that of the cadaver¢¥s gingiva. 4. Thickness of the marginal gingiva and interdenal papilla differentiated according to each tooth, thereafter attached gingiva were almost constant through the each tooth. 5. Thickness of the gingiva in the male was thicker than that of the female.
